Timber We Use

Unlike plastic-based materials, wood has warmth and gives your home a touch of class. It says ‘you care’ about your home. It lends itself to fitting non-uniform frames as it can be shaved and shaped to fit perfectly.

We use mostly Redwood, Sapele and Accoya, If you have a special request, talk to us and we’ll discuss whether a particular kind of wood will work and, if it doesn’t, suggest the nearest similar type of wood. 

Most of our woods come from Scandinavia and The Philippines. We only purchase wood from sustainable sources that are registered sustainable forests. That means for every tree that is felled, at least two more are planted to replace it.

We’ll discuss your vision and can give you advice and make suggestions based on our decades of experience. We use a computer-aided-design (CAD) system to provide you with digital images of what the finished windows or doors will look like before we touch a piece of wood. You can choose everything from the style of frame to the handles and security locks.

Every unit is bespoke to fit your home perfectly, hand-made using state-of-the-art machinery. We use traditional joinery methods to ensure strong joints and a long life for every unit.

Each window or door is finished by either paint-spraying or stain and lacquer. If you choose a painted finish, you can choose the colour and we’ll match it perfectly. Each window has 4 coats of anti-fungal paint that is micro-porous to protect your window or door frames so they won’t need repainting every year. If you prefer a natural wood effect the frames can be stained and lacquered to your specifications.

Every window we make is fitted by our highly-trained installation team. This ensures that every window is perfectly aligned and sealed in place. You’ll get advance warning and we’ll ensure that the fitting process causes you the minimum of disruption.
